Michal Preminger, PhD, MBA, is a seasoned innovation leader with cross-sector experience spanning life sciences, tech, and diverse organizational settings—from startups to academia and global corporations. A recognized thought leader in biotech and healthcare, Michal is known for executing high-impact deals and influencing global innovation strategy. She serves on the boards of MassBio and the Kendall Square Association and contributes to multiple innovation-focused initiatives. Her contributions were honored with the inaugural Kendall Square Founders Award.
From 2018 to 2025, she served as Senior Vice President at Johnson & Johnson, leading the East North America team at J&J Innovation. In this role, she shaped strategy and drove early-stage investments, collaborations, and licensing to advance J&J’s pharmaceutical and medtech pipelines.
Earlier, Michal was Executive Director of Technology Development at Harvard Medical School, where she led strategic industry partnerships, major licensing deals, and startup formation. The projects she advanced have led to breakthroughs in cancer, autoimmune and neurological diseases, mental health, infectious diseases, and more. Innovators she mentored are now driving global impact across the healthcare ecosystem.
Previously, she held senior roles at Compugen (NASDAQ: CGEN), contributed to the fields of genomics, proteomics, predictive medicine and AI-based target discovery, co-founded a biotech startup, and held multiple product development, marketing, BD, and commercial development roles in the tech industry.
Michal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from Hebrew University, an MSc and PhD in Biological Sciences from the Weizmann Institute of Science, and an MBA from INSEAD.
